In 2008 Ataa Oko had overcome all his earlier difficulties in drawing and colouring his sketches. The first works of strange beings, half man, half animal, were produced with luminous, densely applied colours. For Ataa Oko, they were all spiritual beings he believed to see in the night. He now also had a story to tell about each of these new drawings.
