Coverage

Since Regula Tschumi started her field research in Ghana in 2003, she became in the course of her research a passionate photographer. Since 2014 she has been trained by various world-renowned photographers like Peter Turnley, Ernesto Bazan, Maciej Dakowicz and Nikos Economopoulos. Although she still photographs mainly in Africa documenting her research, she has recently also started with street photography in and outside Africa. Because this kind of photography, which records events in public places, is quite similar to her documentary work. In doing so, she is always concerned with observing and capturing visually interesting moments, trying to see the peculiarities of cultures and the similarities of human emotions by always keeping an unsettled motif. In addition, using a camera is for her also a pretext to get in touch with the people she photographs.
