Sign writer and painter (*1966)

D. A. Jasper opened a sign writer workshop in Teshie in 1988. In 1990, he started to paint movie posters for the small cinemas in the Accra Region. But since several years he creates these works mainly for art collectors and for the international art market. Besides this work the artist also paints Paa Joe’s figurative coffins.

Regula Tschumi met Jasper in 2002 in Paa Joe’s workshop where he painted the figurative coffins. Since then she has collaborated with Jasper in several art projects.
